FAQ

Our engineer handles our lead line paperwork. Why would we need this?

Ask what last year's notice cycle cost in billable hours — generating, mailing, and certifying letters is often billed at engineering rates for work a $99 tool does in minutes. Many systems keep their engineer for the judgment calls and use LineComply for the recurring grind. (Engineers: the multi-system plan exists for exactly you.)

Our state has its own template and portal. Does this work with that?

Yes — that's the point. LineComply exports in your state's required format (Missouri's DNR spreadsheet, Pennsylvania's DWELR upload, the EPA template elsewhere) and tracks your state's specific deadlines. You keep filing exactly where the state says; you just stop assembling it by hand.

We don't think we have any lead lines. Do we still have obligations?

If any of your lines are "unknown" — and for most small systems that's a third or more — yes: annual letters to every unknown address, annual inventory updates, and evidence-backed verification by the 2030s. Unknowns carry nearly the same workload as lead until you prove them out. That proving-out is what the evidence log is for.

How long does setup take?
